Vulpes vulpes

Nottinghamshire, England - January 2010

The Red Fox is the most widespread and abundant carnivore in the world. It is a very adaptable species and is found in practically every habitat type imaginable throughout the northern hemisphere and Australia, where it was introduced by European settlers. In Britain, it is now commoner in urban habitats than in the countryside.
